The Summer Internship Program offered once a year from June to August is an excellent opportunity to serve our community and explore new avenues in public service. We are seeking exceptional candidates to apply for this program.
The internship program of the Consulate General is designed to provide students with a unique opportunity of involvement in governmental affairs and to provide them with a general understanding of Consular work performed by the Houston Consulate General. The interns would have the opportunity of working directly with the Consulate General diplomats. This first-hand experience is highly valuable for those who are interested in international relations. Upon successful completion of the internship, participants will receive a certificate signed by the Head of Chancery.
The interns’ attachment with the Consulate General would be on a voluntary basis. They would not receive any remuneration for their work, usually five days per week. Students are encouraged to apply for academic credits from their Universities for the internship programme with the Consulate General.
Room and board for interns out of Houston would be the interns’ own responsibility. The Consulate General would try to assist in finding suitable accommodation.
